A NOVEL
The Island off Stony Point

Three people die in an assault on a monastery. Along
with the monastery's sacred tabernacle, ancient Father
Martin is one of three monks taken hostage in order to
extort millions from the Catholic church. They are
imprisoned in a cavern on Phlatte Island in Lake Ontario.

Detective Jessica tames arrogant agent Dexter as they
follow clues to the island. Youthful, African-American
Stony guards Martin, who is almost a centarian. Over
seventy-five years separates their ages—yet, the two
men start to communicate. Stony has never killed;
Martin insists it's because of his "manly" soul.

When Jessica and Dexter arrive to confront the
kidnappers, Stony and Martin are gone. They barely
get a small seaplane aloft using skills Martin learned
during World War II. The take-off, flight, and landing of
the seaplane without water; seems miraculous!
